“We will succeed”: Elizabeth II addressed the nation for a pandemic
Last night on British TV and in the Internet appeared the appeal of the Queen of great Britain, connected with the global epidemic of a new type of coronavirus COVID-19. For all 68 years of reign, it became only the fifth and this suggests that Elizabeth II addresses the nation only in cases of emergency.
In his speech, the Queen thanked the people for what they are at home, and also stressed the importance of discipline.
“I hope that in future years everyone will be proud of how they responded to this challenge. And those who come after us will say that this generation of Britons was not less strong than all the others. Such distinctive features as self-discipline, life-affirming quiet determination and compassion, still characterize this country,” said Elizabeth II.
“We will succeed and that success will belong to each of us. We will again be near our friends, we’ll be back with our families, we will meet again. In the meantime, I Express my gratitude and warmest wishes as well,” she added.
