Despite the crisis in pandemic coronavirus, Dutch second division club Excelsior Rotterdam announced a plan to expand their stadium Van Donge & De Roo. The uniqueness lies in that, except that additional locations will be built and 4 small houses with numerous apartments. Published the first photos of the project.
Last week the club sent its plans to the city Council of Rotterdam and has already received positive feedback. After the reconstruction the stadium will be able to visit a total of 6,500 spectators. In addition, the corners of the stadium should be built almost 400 apartments, which should serve the club an additional source of income.
With the new stadium, the team’s return to Eredivisie, Dutch top division, also will look timely. Managing Director of the club ferry de Huangshan said: “We have never hidden their ambitions to play in Eredivisie. However, under the current circumstances we have reached the maximum possible level of income, so we need to look for alternatives”.
