VTSIOM: Russians trust domestic medicines
According to research VTSIOM spent in March 2020, 66% of citizens have confidence in the Russian drugs. Industry experts say that the rising popularity of domestic pharmaceuticals largely contributed to the success of the Russian pharmaceutical industry in the last 10 years.
All-Russia centre of studying of public opinion in March 2020 conducted a study among 1,600 respondents from 80 regions of the country, which measured the attitudes of Russians to the products of domestic pharmaceutical companies. According to the study, “trust completely” and “rather trust” the Russian drugs 12% and 54%, respectively.
According to VTSIOM, the Russian drugs are trusted the most economically active population groups: people aged 18-24 years (69%), 25-34 years (67%) and 35-44 (70%), and in addition, and among Russians aged 45-59 years (68%). For most confidence in the Russian drugs is based on personal experience (70%), roughly a quarter of all Russians – on knowledge of doctors (26%), every fifth – in the opinion of acquaintances (21%).
More than a third of respondents (38%) said that the doctor’s opinion is a key characteristic affecting the credibility of the drug, along with the effectiveness of the medication (36%). Six Russians out of ten (61%) are willing to accept designated physician domestic medicine.
