Vaccines against coronavirus, most likely, will not be until the end of 2021 – pharmaceutical company
The vaccine for the coronavirus probably will not have time to develop, test and launch into mass production until the end of 2021. This opinion was expressed by Executive Director of the Swiss pharmaceutical company Roche Severin Schwan, says Business Insider.
He, in particular, called the probability of developing a vaccine in the next 18 months “very ambitious” plan. The most likely scenario, according to Schwan, is that “vaccines will not be until the end of next year.”
However, he was sure that the “key to return to normal life” will be tests for antibodies to the coronavirus (the presence of antibodies may indicate the development of immunity to the disease) and not the vaccine. The publication notes that the company of Schwan intends to produce its own antibody tests in may this year.
