UEFA Trabzonspor eliminated from European competitions for one year
UEFA has officially announced that the Turkish “Trabzonspor” was disqualified from European competitions for one season. The reason is neglect of the rules of financial fair play (FFP).
Trabzonspor will be forced to miss one of the two following seasons in the European Cup – depending on when you will be able to get into continental tournaments.
Most likely, the club will miss the next season because in current struggles with the “Basaksehir” for the championship, and with a high probability, finish in place.
In 2016, Trabzonspor has signed an agreement with UEFA FFP compliance, however, the 2019 financial year, it became clear that to comply with the terms of the agreement, the club can not.
