UEFA is ready to approve abbreviated formats League play-offs or mini-tournaments
At a meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee, which was held on 23 April via videoconference, was made a number of recommendations for member countries. The main priority is considered to be completing national leagues in European countries.
As an alternative, UEFA is ready to approve the abbreviated formula for completing tournaments such as the playoffs or the round mini-tournaments.
If sanitary conditions do not guarantee maximum safety for the athletes on the field and beyond, the UEFA already allow for a complete stop of the championship, as has actually happened in Belgium and Scotland, and also soon to be in the Netherlands.
In case of impossibility to finish the championship, the Federation (but not the League!) will have to send the list of qualified teams for the next European cups, based on the sporting results of the current season.
UEFA will ensure the application of the criteria of sports significance and transparency, otherwise reserves the right to refuse admission to the competition.
