UEFA has set a deadline. Federation should submit their plans until may 25
UEFA, the main body of European football, has produced a guide for all 55 Association members, indicating the deadline for plans to restart the European Championships.
The guide, signed by the UEFA President Alexander Ceferino and the Secretary General of UEFA, Theodore Theodoridis says:
“National associations and leagues must inform UEFA to may 25, 2020 of the scheduled restart of their domestic competitions, including the date of the restart and the appropriate format of the tournament.”
In case of cancellation seasons in the League, UEFA have also asked similar associations, such as the Dutch Federation, “explain special circumstances that justify early termination” to the same deadline.
Last week, agreement was reached that the qualification of clubs for Champions League and Europa League should be determined on the basis of sports principles in the current season.
The UEFA Executive Committee will hold its next online video conference on may 27 in which he intends to make a decision on whether to complete the European competition of this season in August.
However, senior officials of UEFA will support any League that will not be able to provide clarity to 25 may due to the ongoing uncertainty of the governments measures in pandemic coronavirus.
UEFA also appealed to the 12 host cities of Euro 2020, pending in the summer of 2021, with the request to confirm their participation in the organization of the continental forum till April 30.
