Trump’s son-in-law does not exclude that the presidential elections in the United States will take
Advisor to the President of the United States Jared Kushner (he also happens to be the son-in-law to Donald Trump) does not exclude that the presidential elections in the United States may not be held on 3 November due to pandemic coronavirus. He stated this in an interview with TIME may 12.
Kouchner stressed that this decision is not in his jurisdiction, but recognized that such an option is being considered.
At the same time adviser of the American President expressed hope that the United States will be able to avoid a massive second wave of the epidemic in the fashion industry this fall thanks to the measures taken by the Federal government. He expressed the opinion that if the US “will be opened after the quarantine, it will be very difficult again to close the country”.
The U.S. presidential election scheduled for 3 November.
The main battle for the White house traditionally conducted between the candidates of the two major political forces of the States: the Democratic and Republican parties. Democrats will almost certainly represent former Vice-President of the United States Joe Biden (all of his rivals have already dropped out of the race), Republicans – trump.
In late April, Biden said that trump “will try to cancel the elections”. According to him, trump believes that such an option will help him win.
In this channel, CNN noted that the President can not unilaterally change the election date because they are set by Federal law. Only Congress must approve such a step.
As of may 13, the US confirmed 1.38 million cases of infection with coronavirus, of which 83 thousand died, more than 230 thousand recovered. The country ranks first in the world in the number of infected and dead.
