Trump refused the daily briefing after he ridiculed the proposal to treat the coronavirus injections sanitizers
The US President Donald trump on April 25 for the first month did not come to the daily press conference on the measures taken to combat the epidemic of coronavirus infection. This writes the British newspaper The Guardian.
A day earlier, on 24 April a press conference of the head of the White house lasted only 22 minutes, whereas his briefings typically lasted more than an hour. According to the publication, the advisers managed to convince the American President that his briefings are detrimental to his campaign. “The President used the briefings as airtime, without censorship, praising his own administration for the struggle against the crisis, criticizing the media and Democrats for any negative remarks”, – the newspaper notes.
At the same time, according to his advisers, many Americans scared and epidemic, and to stop companies from-for quarantine in these circumstances, the constant picks trump journalists seem irrelevant. Team President urged him to act only with extra statements.
The Guardian believes that the rejection of the briefings can be regarded as recognition that the President “went too far” at the briefing on April 23, suggesting that injection of disinfectants for the treatment of coronavirus. His words, the newspaper notes, “caused shock and jeers” from the expert community and the press, and representatives of the health care system had to refute the words of the head of state.
The trump wrote on Twitter that did not participate in the Saturday briefing because of the press conference “not worth the time and effort” spent on them. He accused the journalists that they ask only “hostile questions” and distort the responses.
What is the purpose of having a White House News Conferences when the Lamestream Media asks nothing but hostile questions, & then refuses to report the truth or facts accurately. They get record ratings, the American people get nothing but Fake News. Not worth the time & effort!
