The world championship on water sports moved from 2021 to 2022

In a press release from the international Federation, FINA announced that the world championship on water sports in Fukuoka Japanese, originally scheduled for the summer of 2021, moved for a year and will be held from 13 to 29 may 2022.

The decision was made after consultations with the heads of Fukuoka city, a swimming Federation of Japan, organizers, athletes, coaches, technical committees, television partners and sponsors.

FINA President Dr. Julio Malone said, “After interacting with relevant stakeholders and taking their feedback we have no doubt that this decision will provide the best possible conditions for all participants of the championship. We look forward to when in 2022 in Fukuoka, will compete against the best in the world athletes from around the world. In times of unprecedented uncertainty FINA hoped that the announcement of these dates will give some clarity in planning for all stakeholders.”

Note that a few days later, from may 31 to June 9, 2022 on the island of Kyushu in Japan will host the FINA world Championships in water sports among veterans.
