The US imposed sanctions against Chinese companies for violations of minority rights and the creation of weapons of mass destruction

The US Commerce Department on may 22 announced the introduction of new sanctions against Chinese companies and government organizations.

On the website of the Department published two new sanctions list, which included 33 companies.

The first list includes eight companies and the forensic Institute of Ministry of public security of the PRC. In Washington believe that they are involved in human rights violations, repression, arbitrary detention, surveillance and coercion. We are talking about the persecution of Uighurs, ethnic Kazakhs and other Muslim minorities in the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous region.

Earlier in this regard, sanctions were imposed against 28 companies.

Another 24 companies and enterprises subjected to restrictions in connection with involvement in the development of weapons of mass destruction and technologies for military use, said the Ministry. Action companies based in China, Hong Kong and the Cayman Islands, is contrary to the interests of national security and foreign policy of the United States, the report says.

Rules of export administration of the United States impose additional licensing requirements and restrict the export and re-export of goods and technologies organizations included in the sanctions list.

China has about 10 million Uighurs. US officials said that Chinese authorities have criminalized many aspects of religion and culture in Xinjiang and the region’s inhabitants, Muslims by religion, were sent to labor camps.
