According to the authorities, the attack is aimed, primarily, at the national and international health authorities, pharmaceutical companies, research organizations and local authorities. It is assumed that the goal of hackers collecting information about the outbreak of coronavirus.
According to representatives of the NCSC and CISA, in the coming weeks and months, the activity of hackers will grow.
The statement said that most of the cyber attacks carried out by spraying passwords. In a blog on the Microsoft site explainsthat during this attack, the attackers try to access accounts using the most common passwords (like Password1 or 123456). In such an attack the hackers aimed not at a specific user, and rely on the fact that one of them uses a weak password.
The bodies of cyber security recommends that all organizations that may become targets of attacks, use complex passwords, consisting of random characters, and to introduce two-factor authentication.
