The United States purchased from Russia delivered yesterday in the airport of new York the medical equipment in the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection COVID19. This is stated in the statement of the official representative of US state Department Morgan Ortagus that 2 APR posted on Twitter.
“The United States agreed to purchase from Russia the necessary medical equipment, including ventilators and personal protective equipment,” – said Ortagus.
According to her, the equipment on 1 April was transferred to the Federal Agency of the USA on emergency situations (FEMA).
The agreement on the delivery of equipment from Russia was reached during a telephone conversation between US President Donald trump with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, which took place on March 30, said a spokeswoman for the state Department.
“Both countries have provided humanitarian aid to each other in times of crisis in the past and will undoubtedly do so again in the future. It’s time to work together to defeat a common enemy that threatens the lives of all of us,” – said in a statement Ortagus.
