Serbia protested to the European Union after the website of the European training centre for children called the inventor Nikola Tesla a Croat. On 9 may, announced the Agency Associated Press.
The Minister of foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic said that he had sent a note of protest in Brussels, the Minister of culture of Serbia demanded an apology for the false information about the inventor of x-rays.
The Agency reminds that Tesla was an ethnic Serb born in 1856 in the Austrian Empire on the territory of modern Croatia. He spent most of his life abroad, and died in USA.
History books cite his quotes, saying that he was proud of his Serbian origin and Croatian homeland.
Ethnicity Tesla has long been one of many disputes between neighboring Balkan countries Serbia and Croatia, notes AP.
