July 24 in the Kerch Strait, the participants of “the Road of courage. Kerch landing”, dedicated to the Kerch-Eltigensky operations, drowned one of the three participated in the campaign of armored vehicles. This was reported by “Interfax”.
While crossing the Strait BRDM-2 sank, the crew was evacuated, no injuries, reports the news Agency.
According to Andrey Konnov, a press-the Secretary Military-technical society, which carries out the action, the cause of PE was a strong side wind and the machine output at the line with the differences in depth.
“Interfax” notes that the attempt to save the BRDM was unsuccessful. The water in the armored car arrived too quickly.
Action “the Way of courage. Kerch landing” is held in Crimea from 2017, in the event of armored vehicles overcome a 15-kilometer distance between Taman and Crimea across the Kerch Strait.
Kerch-Eltigen landing operation (31 October — 11 December 1943) is one of the largest amphibious operations of world war II. Its duration was 40 days, the result of the operation was the seizure of a bridgehead on the Crimean Peninsula.
