British rock group The Rolling Stones has threatened the President of the United States Donald Trump to court if he did not stop using the band’s songs in his campaign. This publication reports the Rolling Stones , citing a group statement.
It says that the representatives of the musicians and the organization for the protection of the rights of performers BMI sent to the headquarters trump another warning about the inadmissibility of the use of the songs of the Rolling Stones, because earlier was ignored.
“BMI notified the trump campaign on behalf of The Rolling Stones that the unauthorized use of their songs would be a violation of the license agreement”, – said in a statement.
Campaign headquarters trump has a special political license for public playback of more than 15 million musical compositions, however, restrictions may be imposed if the songwriter or copyright owner objects to their use, said BMI.
The headquarters of the trump used a song You Can’t Always Get What You Want (“you can’t always get what you want”) at a rally in Oklahoma city on June 20. The same song the command of the President used in his campaign in 2016. Then the musicians of The Rolling Stones said that they do not support trump.
This is not the first case where famous musicians are trying to ban the current President of the United States the use of their songs. Rapper Pharrell Williams and the family of the late musician Prince asked trump to use their music for political events. The singer Steve Tyler from the band Aerosmith also complained when the President sang the hit group Living On The Edge. Brits Elton John and Ozzy Osbourne was also banned from Trump to use their songs.
In 2019, Twitter has removed the video of trump because of the unauthorized use of music from the Batman movie.
