The European Volleyball Federation (CEV) has officially announced that in the period from 22 to 30 August this year in the cities of Zenica (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Osijek (Croatia) will host matches of the final stage of European championship among women under the age of 19 years. This will be the first continental tournament after the epidemic of coronavirus in March was stopped all international competitions.
Due to the fact that it was impossible fully to carry out qualifying tournaments, it was decided to select the 10 best teams at the current rating and add to them two teams the home team. As a result, places in the final tournament were Italy, Russia, Turkey, Serbia, Germany, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Belarus, France and Poland, and Bosnia and Herzegovina plus Croatia. Unfortunately, the Ukrainian team in this age group in the number of participants of a final stage not included.
Next week will be held the draw for the final tournament Euro U-19 teams will be divided into two groups. Following the results of tournament two best teams will earn the right to represent Europe at the world championship among women under 20 years of age.
