The President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev issued a decree dismissed the daughter of the former head of the state Nursultan Nazarbayev Dariga Nazarbayeva from the post of speaker of the upper house of Parliament. The decree published today on the official website of the President.
“A presidential decree terminated the powers of Deputy of the Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan Dariga Nazarbayeva’s Nursultanovna”, – stated in the text of the decree. The reasons for this decision are not reported.
Dariga, the eldest of the three daughters of Nazarbayev.
Nursultan Nazarbayev March 19, 2019 announced the resignation of the President of Kazakhstan after 30 years of rule. In early April, he stated that proceeds with the execution of the duties “of the first President – elbasy”. His daughter Dariga later was elected President of the Senate of Kazakhstan.
According to the Constitution of Kazakhstan, the speaker of the upper house of the Parliament receives the powers of the President for the unexpired term in case of early resignation or death.
