Honduran President Juan Orlando hernández announced on June 16 that he and his wife, Ana Garcia de Hernandez contracted the coronavirus. The President’s statement published on its website.
The politician said that in a weekend “began to feel some discomfort”, and on 16 June he confirmed the diagnosis COVID-19.
Hernandez said that he has mild symptoms of illness, he takes medication, and his wife COVID-19 asymptomatic.
“I recommend some rest, but I will continue to perform their duties remotely through assistants and electronic media”, – said the President of Honduras.
In a Twitter statement, the presidential administration saidthat Hernandez has taken preventive measures recommended by the health authorities, “but due to the nature of the work of the President cannot remain in complete isolation”.
