The official presentation of the PlayStation 5 new games for it postponed indefinitely. Such a decision the company made because of mass protests in the United States associated with the murder of a police officer of African-American George Floyd.
“We decided to postpone the presentation of the PlayStation 5, which was to be held on 4 June. We understand that gamers around the world wanted to see the games on PS5, but we believe that now is not the time for such holidays. We want to step aside so the people can hear more important information.
We condemn the systemic racism and brutality against the African-American community. We will continue to support content authors, players, employees, family and friends belonging to this race, and also work on the future based on compassion,” said Sony.
Recall that the presentation of the new console, the PlayStation 5 had to go through 4 June.
The release of the PlayStation 5 is scheduled for the end of 2020. CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Jim Ryan announced that the pandemic coronavirus have not influenced the company’s plans.
Earlier it was reported that Sony has allocated $ 100 million to combat the pandemic coronavirus.
