The Greek owner of Panathinaikos Dimitris Giannakopoulos at a special press conference announced that he was ready to sell the club for 25 million euros.
“I’d rather the club played in the Champions League FIBA. The decision must be made with the participation of all stakeholders and, of course, fans of our club.
Now, I have decided to put Panathinaikos on sale for 25 million euros. In the meantime, the club will function with the income and people that I trust. I’m leaving Panathinaikos as the champion with his head held high. My cycle at the club was well and truly come to an end,” said Giannakopoulos.
However, despite the open conflict with the President of Euroleague Jordi Bertomeu, Giannakopoulos said that the club leaves the League.
