The official results of presidential elections in Belarus are going to announce on August 14
The Central election Commission of Belarus intends to announce the official results of the presidential election on Friday, August 14. About it on air of TV channel “Belarus 1” said the head of the CEC Lidia Yermoshina.
“I hope that tomorrow [August 10] we will announce the preliminary results. On Friday, I hope, we summarize the results of the election,” she said.
9 August in Belarus was the main day of voting in the presidential election. The official exit poll showed the victory of incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko with a score of almost 80%; the main opposition candidate Svetlana Tikhanovski received about 7 percent.
Shortly after closing the polling stations in Minsk and other Belarusian cities the protests began. The protesters believe the announced preliminary results of voting are forged. It is reported on the protesters clashes with security forces, several people were injured.
