UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin, founder said that due to the transfer of Euro 2020 for 2021 the number of cities hosting the tournament could be reduced from 12 to 8 even:
“In principle, we plan to stay in the cities where planned. Nine cities have all agreed. We have some difficulties in three other cities, so we will continue the negotiations.
In fact, we’re going to have the Euro in twelve cities. If not, we are ready to do it in ten, nine or eight cities.”
In April, UEFA decided not to change the name of Euro 2020.
