The Ministry of health pointed to the need for continuing routine vaccination of children
Routine primary vaccination of healthy infants and young children should continue in accordance with the vaccination calendar. This is stated in the guidelines for the treatment of coronavirus infection in children prepared by the Ministry of health.
“Routine vaccination of healthy and avoidant children do not stop! On the contrary, it is necessary to continue the primary vaccination of infants and young children in accordance with routine programs to prevent the threat of outbreaks and epidemics, such as measles, polio,” the document reads.
The Ministry of health emphasize that immunization should be conducted in strict compliance with measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. In the guidelines it is stated that of particular importance is the implementation of the primary schemes of immunization of younger age mainly with the use of combined vaccines in strict accordance with the national calendar of preventive vaccination standard recommendations. “It is especially important to vaccinate susceptible individuals and patients from risk groups against pneumococcus, Haemophilus influenzae type b, seasonal influenza,” – noted in the Department.
According to the health Ministry, at least a quarter of the children carry the infection without symptoms. Hospitalization requires up to 10% of children.
