The Ministry of health has supported the development of standards of artificial intelligence
The Ministry of health has supported the development of fundamental standards for artificial intelligence in clinical medicine. The initiative to create national standards for the implementation of AI systems in clinical medicine belongs to the relevant Subcommittee of TC 164 “Artificial intelligence”, which was organized at the Centre for diagnostics and telemedicine.
According to the National strategy for the development of artificial intelligence for the period up to 2030, the creation of conditions that will ensure the use of AI technologies in healthcare is one of the key tasks improve the standard of living of the population. The question of trust in medical intelligent systems and barriers associated with the use of AI systems for medical diagnosis, the deviation in the work which may endanger the health and lives of people can be removed through the standardization of requirements to test procedures for the responsible intelligent systems and criteria of the conformity attestation systems the requirements.
“The development of standards is of special importance for creation of a unified system of evaluation of safety, accuracy and reliability of the systems based on AI in health care as part of the enrollment process … and their subsequent safe and efficient use,” – said in a letter sent to the Centre for diagnostics and telemedicine of Ministry of health of Russia.
