A number of international pharmaceutical manufacturers joined the campaign Stop Hate for Profit, in which brands refuse advertising in Facebook. Pfizer, Novartis and AbbVie announced the termination of the advertising placements on the social network in July, reports FiercePharma.
The purpose of the traffic Stop Hate for Profit is putting pressure on the social network to take action against the spread of aggressive posts and misinformation.
Pfizer is one of the largest advertisers on Facebook, according to the volume of advertising in a social network, it is left behind only Microsoft and Starbucks. Pfizer agreed with the activists, who accused Facebook in the lack of racism, cruelty and untrue information. To date, the movement was joined by more than 660 organizations, including Adidas, Coca-Cola, Ford, Pepsi, Target, Unilever and Volkswagen.
