The co-chairs of the government were Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his main opponent, the leader of the “Kahal Lava” benny Gantz. It is expected that Netanyahu will be Prime Minister the first six months, then it will replace Gantz.
Political crisis in Israel lasted for about a year and a half.
26 Dec 2018 the Knesset decided to dissolve itself and call early elections because of disagreements over the government’s bill on the conscription of Orthodox Jews.
The vote was held in April 2019 – according to the results, none of the parties are unable to obtain enough seats in Parliament to form a government. The same situation was repeated in September 2019 and March 2020.
If “Likud” and “Kajol Laban” were unable to agree, the country would be appointed for the fourth year extraordinary elections to the Knesset.
