“Violations of public order recorded yesterday in several localities of the country arrested more than 250 people, including drivers and cyclists for disobeying a lawful order or request of an official in the performance of official duties, violation of order of organizing or holding mass events, as well as violation of traffic rules. Most of the violations recorded in Minsk”, – she wrote.
The speaker of the interior Ministry of Belarus States that, “ignoring warning law enforcement authorities about the inadmissibility of violation of public order, some citizens, unfortunately, succumbed to the influence of Internet provocateurs” that have resulted in “some negative consequences”.
“Some of the detainees after drawing up administrative protocols and conduct preventive conversations released, the individual person is installed in IVS. By the way, in Vitebsk there were no arrests. The actions of police, especially Riot police and traffic police, differed coherence and clarity. Despite the aggression of individuals, they showed restraint and professionalism”, – said Chemodanov.
The reason for the stock was the refusal of the Belarusian Central election Commission to register candidates for President of the opposition Victor Babariko and Valery Tsepkalo.
The detentions took place in Minsk, Pruzhany, Gomel, Brest, Soligorsk, Bobruisk, Grodno and Columns.
The presidential elections in Belarus to be held on 9 August.
Only the CEC registered five candidates.
