The European Commission opened two investigations against Apple
The European Commission has opened two antitrust investigations against Apple. About this June 16, reports the press service of European Commission.
In the investigations reported about possible violations of company rules of competition of the European Union with the use of Apple Pay and violations of policy-related App Store.
“It is important that Apple’s policy did not deprive consumers of the benefits of the new payment technologies, including greater choice, quality, innovation and competitive prices”, – said the European Commissioner for competition, Margrethe Vestager.
In the European Commission reported that in the first investigation the attention of the European Commission will focus on the provisions, conditions and other measures to integrate Apple Pay in shopping apps and websites when working on iPhone and iPad.
In the second case, the investigation will address the question of mandatory use of its own system of purchases within Apple applications and limitations of controls on the ability of developers to inform users on the App Store a better shopping opportunities outside applications.
The investigation against Apple opened based on complaints from the music streaming service Spotify and one of the sellers of electronic and audio books.
In the official report did not specify what measures can be taken against Apple.
