The Russian Embassy in the US, categorically rejected the involvement of Moscow to the attacks on American troops in Afghanistan. This is stated in the statement published by the Russian Embassy on Twitter in response to the publication of the newspaper The New York Times.
Thus, the data sources NYT that Russian intelligence suggested linked to Taliban militants rewards for the assassination of the American military, the Embassy called a fake.
“Baseless and anonymous accusations published by the NYT, has led to the direct threat of life of employees of the Russian embassies in Washington and London,” says the Embassy.
Stop producing #fakenews that provoke life threats, @nytimes.
We demand the relevant #US authorities take effective measures to ensure the fulfillment of their international obligations under the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961. @StateDept @FBI @DHSgov * https://t.co/Ows7srg3IH
