The General staff of the people’s army of Korea is studying the possibility of introducing military forces in the demilitarized zone on the border with South Korea. It is reported the North Korean Agency KCNA.
This decision was taken against the background of escalation of relations between the two countries.

Demilitarized zone – a strip that divides the Korean Peninsula into two approximately equal parts. Its width is 4 km, the zone stretches across the Peninsula to 241 km.
