The Central election Commission of Belarus refused to register a banker Victor Babariko a presidential candidate. This decision was taken at the CEC session on July 14, according to Belarusian portal TUT.by.
CEC head Lidia Yermoshina announced that Babariko refused registration from-for “discrepancies of the Declaration of income and assets and the participation of foreign organizations in the election campaign” of the candidate. Babariko called the main competitor of the incumbent President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, who rules the country since 1994 and intends to run for another term.
