The CEC checked the signatures of the presidential candidates. One of Lukashenko’s opponents dropped out of the race
As reported Belarusian portal TUT.bythe fight for the presidency will continue the six candidates.
In particular, it is one of the main opponents of incumbent President Alexander Lukashenko banker Victor Babariko (CEC 744 165 valid signatures in its support), Lukashenka – 1 939 572 signatures, the former Deputy of Parliament Anna Konopacka (146 588), Chairman of the party “Hramada” Sergey Caraceni (109 of 143), co-Chairman of public Association “Tell the truth” Andrey Dmitriev (106 841) and Svetlana Tikhanovski, the wife of opposition blogger Sergei Tikhanovski (104 757).
The presidential elections in Belarus to be held on 9 August this year. One of the main opponents of Lukashenka – banker Victor Babariko – was taken into custody June 18, a day before the deadline, which is given to collect signatures for the candidate. Belarusian law enforcers accused him of financial crimes.
