Foreign drugs for treatment of leukemia and lymphoma can be purchased in the framework of public procurement without restrictions. The corresponding decree was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
We are talking about drugs on the VED list. Currently, foreign medicines, is included in this list, do not participate in auctions if there are similar offerings from at least two manufacturers from the countries of the EEU.
In some cases, this limitation prevents effective treatment and change of drug or using a drug from another manufacturer can lead to deterioration of the patient. This is particularly true for rapidly progressive diseases which require sustained treatment, the government explained.
Among the drugs that are no longer subject to the rule included filgrastim, caspofungin, micafungin, carboplatin, voriconazole, sevoflurane, rituximab, fludarabine. They are used in malignant neoplasms of the lymphoid and hematopoietic tissues, as well as in the treatment of orphan diseases in children.
