The Ministry of information of Belarus on 7 August issued a written warning to the portal TUT.BY for “spreading false information that can harm state or public interests”. The release media may be suspended for up to three months if the website will not make corrections in the material, writes TUT.BY.
5 Aug portal told what violations recorded at polling stations on the first day of early voting on elections of the President of Belarus. Observer Alexander Yakubovsky, an accredited on the land in the village of Smilovichi, Minsk region, said that according to his calculations, I come to the site 21 the voter, not 164 as stated in the Protocol.
The Ministry of information considered the information not relevant, since, according to the regional electoral Commission, Jakubowski spent on the site in just 20 minutes. The second observer confirmed that Jakubowski was on school grounds all day.
“The decision on the imposition of a written warning may be in a month appealed to the courts. TUT.BY c the decision does not agree. The decision to appeal is still pending, but in order to prevent blocking of the resource, we will make changes to the text of the article,” he told reporters.
Early voting for the presidential elections began on 4 August and will continue until tonight. The main vote will take place on August 9.
According to the CEC, voter turnout over the four days of early voting in the presidential elections made up 32.24%.
The main competitors of the incumbent President Alexander Lukashenka – banker Victor Babariko and diplomat Valery Tsepkalo – to participate in the elections was not allowed. Babariko and his son Edward was detained in June on charges of financial fraud, Tsepkalo left the country and is now in Ukraine. In this regard, the headquarters of Babariko and Tsepkalo decided to team up with Svetlana Tikhanovski, wife of the arrested blogger Sergei Tikhanovski.
Just as the head of state claimed five people: Lukashenko, Tikhanovski, co-Chairman of the Association “Tell the truth” Andrey Dmitriev, ex-Deputy of the house of representatives Anna Konopacka and the leader of the party “Belarusian social-democratic Gramada” Sergey Cerecer.
