The UFC is the strongest and therefore the most attractive in the MMA promotion. It is not surprising that the Champions of the other organizations tend to go there. No exception is carriers belts, so to speak, of the promotion No. 2 – Bellator. However, in recent years the situation has changed. Several UFC stars are at the peak, moved to Bellator and some of them eventually became Champions.
Sport.ua presents six famous UFC fighters who went to Bellator and won the title there.
The light heavyweight Davis never fought for a UFC title, but he was twice close to that, losing candidates fighting Rashad Evans and Anthony Johnson.
In January 2015 he loses a split decision to Ryan Bader, refuses to sign a new contract with the UFC in April of that year goes to Bellator. In September 2015 he makes his debut in Bellator, having spent a night two fast winning the match and winning the Grand Prix. Then he defeats Muhammed Lawal and Liam MacGuire, overthrowing the last of the light heavyweight throne in November 2016. But in the first defense of Phil loses the rematch Bader, again with a split decision.
Davis is still a Bellator fighter, after losing the title his record 4-1.
The Bader was a glorious career in the UFC in the octagon he fought with such legends as Tito Ortiz, “Rampage” Jackson, Rashad Evans, Anthony Johnson, Antonio Rogerio and John Jones (for the title at light heavyweight).
After the victory over Nogeyra in a rematch at UFC Fight Night 100 in November 2016 at Bader’s contract ends and the next battle in June 2017 he defeats Davis, wiping his Bellator title. After defending the belt against the encroachments Linton Vassell, Ryan lifted into a heavy weight, which takes part in the Grand Prix.
After Mohammed Laval and Matt Mitrione, he faces Fedor Emelianenko in the finals. In January 2019 Bader 35 seconds out of Russian legend, and takes the vacant belt in Bellator hevewae. The status of the champion-heavyweight Bader fights Cacom of the Congo, but because of unintentional poke in the eye of the Frenchman in the fourth minute of the match, the fight failed to recognize.
Bader is still the champion of Bellator in two weights. His title in the light heavyweight division he will defend in the battle against Vadim Nemkov.
The former champion of Cage Warriors, DREAM and Strikeforce mousasi was well known to the world MMA before joining UFC 2013.
In July 2017 Musashi announced the signing of a contract with Bellator despite the fact that at that time he is in the top 5 Middleweight UFC and was on a “hot” series of five wins (four by knockout).
Debuting in Bellator with wins over ex-champion of the organization Alexander Shlemenko in may 2018 Musashi goes to London to pick up from the hands of Rafael Carvalho belt in the Middleweight division. Then follows a successful defense against the champion of Bellator Welterweight Rory MacDonald and the loss of the title in a close battle with Rafael Lovato.
The loss of the title “the Dreamcatcher” managed to close in September of last year, taking revenge on the ex-champion of the UFC Lyoto Machida.
Making his debut in Pro MMA at the age of 16 years, MacDonald has quickly established itself as a top prospect. In 2009, 20-year-old Welterweight with a 9-0 record signed by the UFC.
In the octagon Rory have had more than one memorable fight, including the “Battle 2015” against the champion Robbie Lawler. After losing to Stephen Thompson, MacDonald in August 2016 to the surprise of many signs an agreement with Bellator, where after defeating Paul Daley, he gets a title shot.
In January of 2018 MacDonald tried on a belt in the Welterweight division by defeating Douglas Lima. Prior to joining the UFC Horiguchi owned the title in Japanese promotion Shooto Bantamweight champion, but the new place of work, he decided to fall on the category below and with a record of 4-0 in the UFC, he went to battle against the champion Demetrius Johnson, but lost by armbar.
Covering the loss with three wins, a Japanese man leaves the UFC and returned to his homeland. In 2017, he celebrates success in Grand Prix Rizin Bantamweight champion, and a year later won the title of champion Rizin, defeating the defending champion of Bellator Darrion Caldwell.
In June, 2019 in new York for a Bellator 222 Horiguchi and Caldwell carried out a revenge, here at stake is only the title of American. In January 2020 at Bellator 238 “Cyborg” more than successful debut in the organization, finishing champion in the Featherweight Julia Budd. Thus, Justino collects in the collection zone of the UFC, Bellator, Strikeforce and Invicta FC.
