Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder was re-elected to the post of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company “Rosneft”. About it it is spoken in the message of the press service of the company.

This decision was taken at the annual shareholders ‘ meeting of the Board of Directors of the company held on 5 June.

“Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC “NK” Rosneft “Elected Gerhard Schroeder, the staff and the elected chairmen of the committees of the Board of Directors”, – noted in press service.

Schroeder was Chancellor of Germany from 1998 to 2005, in this post it was replaced by Angela Merkel.

In September 2017 at the invitation of the head of the company Igor Sechin, Schroeder headed the Board of Directors of “Rosneft”, the head of the company Igor Sechin called him “the most loyal” to Russia, the German leader, writes RBC. In the summer of 2018 Schroeder was re-elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company. He also is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company 2 the Nord Stream AG (the operator of the pipeline “Nord stream – 2”).
