Residents of Russia and Ukraine are envious of the citizens of Belarus. On 2 July during a speech in honor of the independence Day of Belarus, said President Alexander Lukashenko, reports the website of the Belarusian head of state.
“I’m in this presidential campaign, not because of hanging on, holding on to this chair, bruised fingers. I’m the best years of his life, like many of you, given the construction of this country. How could, how could, and built. As it turned out, no worse than others. Most importantly, we have avoided wars, live in safe, peaceful country where everyone who has a baby can go outside at any time of the day and be calm. We are jealous of people from other countries: our brothers-the Russians, the Ukrainians. We live and don’t understand how it got us” – said Lukashenko.
He stressed that Belarusian citizens “have no mercy at all to determine with whom they will live and how they will build a sovereign and independent country for his children.”
In Belarus on 9 August presidential elections will take place. On the eve of voting the authorities stepped up pressure on the opposition. So, one of the main opponents of Lukashenka – banker Victor Babariko was taken into custody June 18, a day before the deadline, which is given to collect signatures for the candidate. Belarusian law enforcers accused him of financial crimes.
