Putin instructed to increase the life expectancy of Russians at the age of 78

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the national goals of Russia’s development until 2030. One of the goals was to increase the projected life expectancy of Russians at the age of 78.

Last week Putin stated that the life expectancy is an indicator of the quality of work of authorities, reports RIA Novosti. He urged to pay attention to this guide and make it specific.

Earlier, the Ministry of health announced the achievement of a historical maximum life expectancy of Russians: in 2019 it is made up of 73.4 years. The Ministry stressed that increasing life expectancy is largely associated with a reduction in mortality of the working age population by 3.5 % in men and 2.1% in women.
