Russian President Vladimir Putin has threatened the governors of the country’s criminal liability in case they are not doing a good job in the fight against coronavirus. He stated this during a meeting on the sanitary-epidemiological situation in the Kremlin, April 13, writes “Moskovsky Komsomolets”.
Putin said that the governors should use their extra time to increase the number of beds in hospitals and mobilize medical personnel. He added that “if there is something completed in time, it will treat this as criminal negligence with all its consequences, not only of an administrative nature”.
Cases of outbreaks in some regions of Russia, Putin called “the result of sloppiness”. However, according to the President of the Russian Federation, the situation in Russia compared to other countries “is preferable”.
