Putin has banned the media to write about the FSB without permission from the security services

On July 31 President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed the law on the Federal security service, which has restricted the dissemination of information about the secret service. The document posted on the Internet-portal of legal information of the Russian Federation.

The law prohibits the publication and dissemination of materials on the FSB without the permission of the Department, said “Currently”.

The channel explained that it is about respecting professional secrets of the Russian military, civil servants, active and dismissed from FSB staff. Before publishing information containing professional secrecy, should pass examination in the FSB.

The authors of the amendments believe that the dissemination of such information “may jeopardize” the security of the Federal security service, or “damage their reputation”.

The state Duma adopted the law on July 21. The Federation Council approved the document on 24 July.
