The President of Russia Vladimir Putin awarded the jubilee medal “75 years of Victory in the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945”, the head of the DPRK Kim Jong-UN, announced on may 5 in Facebook the Russian Embassy in North Korea.
In accordance with the decree of Putin, Kim Jong-UN was awarded “for his great personal contribution to the commemoration of the dead and buried on the territory of the DPRK, and Soviet citizens care about the safety of the graves and memorials of Soviet soldiers in the Democratic people’s Republic”. The text of the decree on the Kremlin website was not published.
The Embassy said that the ceremony of transfer of coin took place on 5 may, the North Korean Palace of congresses “Mansudae” in Pyongyang, attended by Russian Ambassador Alexander Matsegora.
Kim Jong-UN at the ceremony was not the award was received by Minister of foreign Affairs of the DPRK Lee Seon Gwon.
