Pandemic coronavirus. The death toll has exceeded 200 thousand
The evening of 25 April, the amount associated with coronavirus deaths worldwide has exceeded 200 million, show data from the American Johns Hopkins University that monitors the spread of infection online.
At the time of publication of news the number of victims has reached 200 698 people.
More than a quarter of deaths (53 070) are in the United States, in second place in the number of fatalities is Italy (26 384). More than 20 thousand victims have also been recorded in Spain (22 902), France (22 648) and the UK (20 380). Thus, these five countries account for more than 145 thousand dead was 72.4%.
The number of victims of the pandemic has doubled over the last two weeks – 11 April, the number of deaths has overcome a mark in 100 thousand.
As a result of the pandemic, which began with the outbreak of coronavirus infection in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, has infected more than 2.86 million people. Over 811 thousand of them have already recovered.
