On 15 June as a result of clashes between Indian and Chinese military on the line of actual control on the border of two countries, killed 20 soldiers from India. This is with reference to sources reported on 17 June edition of Hindustan Times.
Initially, the Indian army announced the deaths of three people – two soldiers and the commander of a battalion of infantry. Later, the Indian military said that in the performance of official duties was seriously injured and died, another 17 people. Their condition was aggravated by low temperatures in the high incident area.
Loss and supposedly have the military in China, but exact figures were not provided.
The Indian Ministry of foreign Affairs explained the incident an attempt of China to “change the status quo” in the region, but did not specify what exactly was this attempt.
The BBC notes that the last time the sides exchanged fire blows in the border area in 1975, when the victims of the collision were four Indian military.
The line of actual control on the border with China was conducted at the end of the conflict in 1962 in which India suffered defeat.
