OFFICIALLY. Formula 1 has announced a possible date of the start of the season
The head of Formula-1 Chase Carey said that the series had previously agreed on the start of the season, the 3rd of July, when be held the Grand Prix of Austria.
“We plan to start the season in Europe with the Grand Prix, which will take place in July and August. The first of these – in Austria, 3-5 July.”
“Then from September there are plans for Asia and North America, and we want to finish in December, with races in Bahrain and Abu Dhabi.”
“The provisional calendar will be published at the earliest opportunity. The first race will be held without fans in the stands.”
“All these plans could change depending on the situation of the pandemic in the world,” said Cary.
Note that Austria, the first in Europe greatly eased quarantine measures and have stated that they are ready to take the race. The problem for the f-1 is that other countries are mostly not yet ready for such a weakening of the quarantine.
