Court of arbitration for sport (CAS) overturned a ban on the performances of Manchester city in European competitions for two seasons because of violations of the rules of financial fair play.
CAS only partially satisfied the appeal of “citizens” because they have to pay a 10 million Euro fine within 30 days. We will remind, the “city” was caught in a serious overstatement of income from sponsorship contracts in the period from 2012 to 2016.
UEFA has already taken note of the CAS decision, noting that there was found sufficient convincing evidence for a more severe verdict. Thus, the team that takes 5th place in the standings of the Premier League season, will not participate in the Champions League.
In February, UEFA has suspended the English club from participation in the Champions League and Europa League for two seasons and was fined 30 million euros. Subsequently, the citizens filed an appeal, but its consideration was postponed because of the pandemic coronavirus.
Earlier it was reported that Manchester city is ready to give Zinchenko for Coulibaly.
