North Korea has postponed a plan of military action against South
North Korean authorities withdrew the plans for military action against South Korea. The decision was taken 23 June at the meeting of the Central military Commission of the ruling workers ‘ party of Korea, reported the KCNA.
The meeting was chaired by state leader Kim Jong UN.
“The Committee assessed the current situation and postponed the plan for military action against the South, which provided the General staff of the Korean people’s army”, – is told in the message.
Details and reasons for decision on the de-escalation not included.
The South Korean Agency Yonhap reported that on 24 June the North Korean military dismantled a few dozen loudspeakers installed along the demarcation lines to broadcast propaganda.
Defense Minister of South Korea Chung Kyung Doo urged North Korea to “completely withdraw” plans for military action, not suspend them.
