12-time champion of Roland Garros, Rafael Nadal said that he could miss the tournament this year:
“I don’t think this pause will appear longer on me than on other players. The consequences for me will be the same as that of my colleagues – well, for those who are aged and who have worn out the body.
Progress will require tremendous effort, discipline and desire to be in the form of a hundred. I am sure that I have all these qualities, but I’m not sure you’ll see me on the “Roland Garros” this year.
I hope that this will happen, but I don’t know how that would work. Although I think we won’t play this year, hope I’m wrong.
Do I think that this could lead to the end of my career? No, I’m not even thinking about it”.
Earlier, Nadal said that he didn’t take the racket in hand a month and a half.
Because of the coronavirus Roland Garros-2020 was moved to the end of September-beginning of October.
