In Moscow yesterday announced the creation of a Clinical Committee to combat coronavirus infection, which included senior doctors coronavirus hospitals, writes AGN Moscow. Members of the Committee made on the inclusion of hospitals to treat COVID-19 and hospitals for the treatment of pneumonia in a single system.
“The Clinical members of the Committee made the first initiative to abandon the separation of hospitals for coronavirus and hospitals for the treatment of pneumonia. The lung disease of a bacterial nature will continue to be treated in centres of pneumonia”, – stated in the message of the Operational headquarters on control and monitoring of the situation with coronavirus in Moscow.
Experts explain that the inclusion of hospitals in a single system is necessary for several reasons. Thus, specialized hospitals for the treatment of pneumonia was organized taking into account forecasts of growth of disease, standardization of treatment and better control of its results. While it is currently the vast majority of cases of pneumonia caused by a novel coronavirus, the trend is noticeable in the last few days, explain to the staff.
“In addition, the accuracy of existing tests to identify COVID-19 is 70-80%, and in some cases, the test gives false negative results and share these results significant. Now when diagnosing a key role is played by assessment of the clinical picture in combination with data of CT or x-ray,” explains the chief physician of hospital in Kommunarka Denis Protsenko.
“In practice we are already working on a new algorithm. The ambulance carries us patients with pneumonia without results of tests for the coronavirus. At admission, based on the results of CT, a characteristic of the hospital, we can already suspect the coronavirus,” says the Director of the research Institute Sklifosovsky Sergey Petrikov.
It is also reported that the CCH №52, which is a few months took sick with pneumonia, will now become the new coronavirus hospital. “Since the end of February in our hospital help leading internists, pulmonologists, and anaesthesiologists receive patients with pneumonia of different etiology. After completion of the conversion or retrofitting of the sixth corps will be ready for additional capacity to receive patients with confirmed coronavirus infection”, – said the chief doctor of city clinical hospital № 52, doctor of medical Sciences Maryana Lysenko. She stressed that the hospital is equipped with on the level of the leading clinics of the world.
Now patients with COVID-19 take 13 urban hospitals. Preparations continue for deployment of hospitals for the treatment of patients with coronavirus infection in a number of Moscow hospitals.
