Mircea LUCESCU: “If not me, then Fonseca would not coached Roma”

The former coach of “Shakhtar” Mircea Lucescu expressed his opinion about the coach of as Roma, Paulo Fonseca, who, after he headed the Donetsk club.

“I gave this team Fonseca, but do not hide from you that I was very upset about his behavior. He didn’t even tell me thank you for the wonderful team that I left him, one phone call would suffice.

He began to instill in players a 4-4-2 as in the “Brahe”, but at some point, the President convinced him to go back to my 4-2-3-1, because the team knew that the game system created especially for many Brazilians. Let me say one more thing: every year when I they have sold several players, and with Fonseca – no.

However, I must admit that Fonseca showed extraordinary intelligence and ability to adapt, and I am convinced that in addition to rudeness that it made in my address, he has the skills to work well in Roma.

I was pleased when Shakhtar destroyed Braga with the score 4:0. And add: from Braga Fonseca would have never moved to the “Roma” – said Lucescu.

We will remind, Mircea Lucescu was the head of “Shakhtar” from 2004 to 2016. Paulo Fonseca – from 2016 to 2019.
